The Eastside Blazers bounced back in a big way on Wednesday night by defeating Fort Wayne Smith Academy 57-24. The Blazers came out fast in the first quarter much like they did in the season opener against the Barons winning the opening stanza 18-3. Things continued to roll in the second quarter as the boys went into halftime up 36-11. Eastside kept things going in the second half winning the half 21-13. Clay Minnick led the way in the home opener scoring 15 points which included 3 threes in the third quarter. Ryder Reed had 9 points and 5 steals, Nolan Baker scored 9 and brought in 10 rebounds. Junior EJ Miller finished with 7 points and 4 assists, and Blake Lesser and Noah Acquaviva each had 6 points. Loden Johnson had 3 points and 3 assists. As a team, the Blazers knocked down 7 threes in the game and had only 7 turnovers. This win was the first career win for Head Coach David Prokop.
