Blazers Fall in NECC Matchup vs. Fremont
The Eastside Blazers (7-10, 1-6) opened up their three game home stand on Tuesday night as Northeast Corner Conference foe Fremont High School came into town for a make up game that was previously scheduled two weeks ago but was postponed due to ice.
Eastside struggled defensively from the start falling behind by 8 in the first and headed into halftime down 27-43. The defensive woes continued in the second half losing the third quarter by 5 and the fourth by 4 giving the game a final score of 61 to 86. Clay Minnick was the Blazers leading scorer as he finished with 27 points including 4 three pointers, 11-11 from the free throw line, while also adding 3 assists. Nolan Baker added 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Noah Acquaviva had 8 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks on the night. Loden Johnson had 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. The Blazers did shoot 80% from the foul line and knocked down 9 threes in the game for a 37.5%.
The junior varsity team fell 34-53 to the Eagles. Bryce Strong had 20 points to lead the Blazers including 12 points in the fourth quarter.
Next up for the Blazers is Senior Night will take place on Friday February 9th when we face off against Garrett (5-12, 1-6). We will be recognizing our 5 senior leaders (Clay Minnick, Loden Johnson, Ryder Reed, Connor Abplanalp, and Noah Acquaviva). Wrapping up the busy week will be a Saturday night game against Adams Central (13-3)
