Eastside Falls to Central Noble

 The Eastside Blazers (6-7, 1-4) hosted Central Noble (11-3, 4-1) on Friday night for the second time in 10 days as part of a girl/guy double header. The girls varsity team once again won against the Cougars, while the boys slow start eventually led to a 15 point loss.

Central Noble once again came out strong jumping out to a 23-3 lead early on in the 2nd quarter as the Blazers struggled to find ways to score early. Eastside did play better in the second quarter after losing the first 3-15, they competed in the second being outscored by just 1 point in the quarter at 11-12. The Blazers went into halftime down 14-27. The third quarter momentum continued to go the Blazer way as did the end of the first half as Eastside won the quarter 11-8. The Cougars won the fourth quarter 17-12 to make the final score 37-52 in favor of Central Noble. 

Clay Minnick led the way for Eastside with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Noah Acquaviva score 9 points on 4 of 5 shooting and brought in 7 rebounds. Eastside did have 10 assists on 14 made baskets. The Junior Varsity team also fell to Central Noble Friday night by a score of 23-62. Evan Elden was the leading scorer with 6 points on two 3s.

Next up for Eastside back to back games taking place on Friday as we host Westview, and Saturday we travel to Heritage. All JV games start at 6:00pm with varsity following at 7:30pm.
